To fall is human… to get up is divine!

I am not sure what the source is but I have been passed on the following text which I find inspiring:

To be human is to lose our way and find it again. The human lineage is the lineage of falling down and getting up.
Time and time again we forget who we are. We forget God and other people and realisation and our true self. We forget that we are essentially good and at one with the world.
This forgetting might be considered a disaster, but if we change our perspective it needn’t be. To be human is to fall down and get up again. Please put this definition in your soul’s dictionary. And reader, please join this tribe of the fully human. If you do you will never be disappointed in yourself again.
To fall is human… to get up is divine!

Happiness is only real when shared

Wow. I absolutely loved watching the movie Into the Wild. It is great on many levels but what touched me most is the realization of the lead character at the end when he writes down: Happiness is only real when shared. Amazing insight that is very well delivered ...

Below a small youtube clip someone made that shows the contrast between his initial belief and his final realization.

The Optimist Creed

Promise Yourself -

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best in you.

This was originally published in 1912 in a book titled: “Your Forces and How to Use Them.” The author was Christian D. Larson, a prolific writer and lecturer who believed that people have tremendous latent powers, which could be harnessed for success with the proper attitude.

Healing Words

What you have inside you expresses itself through both your
choice of words and the level of energy you assign to them.
The more healed, whole and connected you feel inside,
the more healing your words will be.

Mind you though, even though the video is in German most classes are taught in English.

Change

’Afraid’ by Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorite songs ever. I cant get enough of the guitar play by Lindsay Buckingham…
I have a lot of fond memories associated with this songs and I was so happy to find a live version from 1976 on youtube:

And although he sings he will never change watch a more recent recording. ( 2006 )
The movie is sideways unfortunately but nonetheless ...

Natural-Born Pain Killers

Interesting article on how neuroscientists are discovering new ways your braing can outwit your pain. Of course, it is interesting to see how modern day science is validating more and more of what the yogis have known and taught for thousands of years.

TED Talks

I can always marvel at other people’s brilliance. One of the finest sources that I know on the internet featuring bright minds from a variety of back-grounds sharing their expertise is TED - Ideas worth spreading. This site is a well of downloadable videocasts of which I am sure most people will find some of the speakers featured to be inspiring and giving new insights into many subjects.

I find it so refreshing to witness so much potential and good use of resources to solve and address so many different but mostly relevant issues in our world. Below three of my favorite TED Talks to illustrate the variety of what is offered.

William Kamkwamba on building a windmill

Tony Robbins: Why we do what we do, and how we can do it better

Sir Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity?

Nice quote

Just came across this quote by Mansukh Patel on a DVD from his Baghavad Gita series:

“No-one knows enough to be spiritually pessimistic”

Love it!
